This is just what I wanted to hear since I am about to to take a cruise on Seabourn Quest to the Caribbean and Amazon. That up town cruise line Seabourn was awarded Saveur’s top cruise ship dining award for 2015. No surprise really, more of a confirmation that the cuisine continues to please and get thumbs up. i must admit Richard, my first mate and I have enjoyed every meal we've had on Seabourn--which is a lot after more than a half-dozen cruises on the line.
The inaugural Good Taste Awards from the eminent culinary
magazine were celebrated at a special reception in New York City last Tuesday,
Oct. 13 and can be seen online or the October 2015 issue
of the magazine which is dedicated entirely
to the publication's take on the
best in food, drink, and travel, including its Readers' Choice Award winners.
"Saveur's 2015 Good Taste Award is a great honor because we know
that exceptional dining plays an important part in the overall satisfaction of
our guests," Seabourn president Richard D. Meadows shared.
"Our number one priority is to offer outstanding guest experiences, and
we're extremely grateful for our incredibly talented culinary teams to be
celebrated."
The recent award marks the third honor
that Seabourn earned from Saveur in the past three years. Seabourn was
presented with best culinary line honor in the magazine's Culinary Travel
Awards in 2013 and 2014. Well recognized in the industry for its innovative,
fresh from the galley to the table cuisine, Seabourn takes dining outside the
proverbial box with appearances by guest chefs and the creative Shopping with
the Chef program. The line now offers Food
& Wine specialty cruises, such as the upcoming 14-Day Taste of Asia Food
& Wine Cruise set
to depart Hong Kong Jan. 3, 2016, to Singapore, stopping in Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. The line also recently revealed a new
partnership with world-renowned American Chef Thomas Keller, the Michelin-starred gastronomic
great behind Per Se, the over-the-top successful French Laundry in
the Napa Valley, and Bouchon.
Some lucky Seabourn seafarers will be
treated to Keller’s killer cuisine very soon as the menus begin to become
incorporated into the intimate, all-suite fleet. The first to be served will be
Seabourn Odyssey, Seabourn
Quest and Seabourn
Sojourn.
